We buy

Magnesium

Scrap to recycle

What do we do? We buy magnesium scrap. Magnesium waste in other words; from all over the world. We do this to recycle and process it, which allows it to be re-used again. This is a bitter necessity due to the simple fact that magnesium threatens to become scarce, while at the same time, demand for it is actually increasing.

Supplies of magnesium are dwindling according to insiders

We buy magnesium scrap. This is what we do and what we stand for. We have been doing this for twenty years and we will continue to do so. Naturally, we keep an eye on impurities such as oxide and non-metallic particles. We understand our profession. Just like some other raw materials, magnesium supplies are declining according to insiders. It is already on the critical list of EU materials which on an annual basis, imports half of the global total magnesium production, in particular from China.

Density is only slighter higher than that of synthetics

Dwindling magnesium supplies are due to among other things, the versatility of magnesium which has excellent heat dissipation and high impact resistance qualities. It is the lightest structural metal there is and it has a density that is only slightly above that of plastics. How does it differ from steel? Magnesium is 75 percent lighter. Moreover, it has an unequalled strength-to-weight ratio.

We replace electrical devices too quickly

What does not help either, is that we reject our electrical equipment much more quickly. As soon as anything new enters the market, we want it. This produces a gigantic mountain of waste, but for us this means business again, because we buy magnesium scrap. One problem however, is the fact that we are far too quick to stop using our electric devices. The fact that magnesium can be used to make incredibly light laptops has also increased demand for it.

We take into account any impurities

Demand is also increasing from the automotive industry. This is also due to the light-weight qualities of magnesium. Currently, carbon and aluminium are often used, but magnesium is much lighter which produces more economical cars, so demand in this context will only continue to increase. Therefore, it is good for us to state always and everywhere: ‘ We buy magnesium scrap’, regardless of what grade of magnesium it is and where we can get it. Naturally, we take into account impurities in the form of oxidation and non-metallic particles during the recycling process. This ensures that the magnesium that is left can be used effectively.

Buying magnesium scrap

We buy magnesium scrap. By doing this, we help the environment and help prevent magnesium from truly becoming scarce. Our recycled magnesium is of a good enough standard to be used again. This makes quite a difference to the strains on the environment and to growth of the scrap heap to name but a few. And thus, we keep doing what we have been doing for twenty years; buying magnesium scrap, and we are certainly not about to stop doing this either. This is also in your interest.
