Magnesium scrap

Our organisation and magnesium scrap are not uncommonly mentioned in one single breath. This makes sense, because we buy magnesium scrap worldwide and we recycle and process it. In doing so, we counteract magnesium scarcity and depletion of other raw materials that is emerging or has already occurred. No one can say exactly how much magnesium is left in the ground. One solution is to opt for recycling; the exact reason for us buying magnesium scrap.

Growth of the magnesium scrap heap must be stopped

Raw materials such as fluorite, graphite, cobalt, magnesium, talc and tungsten threaten to become scarce. This makes our work so essential. We must manage our materials efficiently and also stop the growing scrap heap. By recycling, we make sure that we make less use of our primary natural resources. Recycling cuts the loss of primary raw materials.

Magnesium supplies are also declining

Magnesium is also becoming scarce; precisely our reason for buying and recycling magnesium scrap worldwide. The reason for increased demand is related to the fact that we spend less time using our electrical devices. Because the market is constantly changing and new products continue to appear, we reject them sooner. New units need magnesium every time and thus, supplies will logically decline.

Demand for magnesium continues to increase

Another reason for a growing demand for magnesium is the automotive industry. Magnesium does not have a fixed value yet, but it does seem to be heading this way. The use of magnesium allows much lighter cars to be produced compared to carbon and aluminium for example. Magnesium also allows production of the lightest laptop you can imagine. For biomedical devices there is also an increasing demand for magnesium. That’s fine, as long as we can buy magnesium scrap needed for used magnesium to be available for re-use in countless applications. Magnesium is completely recyclable – although you need to take into account non-metallic particles and oxide inclusions. What’s more, magnesium dissolves in the environment due to the fact that it reacts with oxygen.

75 percent lighter than steel

Magnesium is completely recyclable and at least 75 percent lighter than steel and 50% lighter than titanium. It is also one-third lighter than aluminium. Magnesium density is only a little higher than that of glass and plastics. In addition, impact resistance is high and magnesium can be cast into a net-shape.

Do you want electromagnetic interference shielding without a filter? Magnesium is also ideal for this, and magnesium heat dissipation is more than excellent.

Magnesium scrap

Because we have not been particularly economical with magnesium, it makes sense to let us buy your magnesium scrap. We can then recycle and process it and supplies do not have to shrink even further. Magnesium is already on the critical list of the EU in terms of raw materials and, given that demand will also increase further, our work – magnesium scrap buying, recycling and processing — is becoming increasingly important.
