Lower grade magnesium scrap
Yes, we definitely also buy lower grade magnesium scrap globally for recycling and processing. Right now, magnesium recycling is definitely preferred. Insiders say that magnesium supplies are dwindling and that this situation cannot be sustained.
This is how we consider the environment
Like this? Yes, because take electrical equipment for instance. These days we discard devices far too quickly as soon as something new comes onto the market. For these new devices, new magnesium needs to be used. Fortunately, we buy all grades of magnesium waste for recycling such as lower grade magnesium scrap. This is how we definitely consider the environment and help to stop the ongoing use of magnesium in its natural state. This is something which, according to insiders, is crucial. When we buy lower grade magnesium scrap, we recycle it and this creates perfectly useable magnesium again. We remove any impurities by using emulsifying salts for instance.
Waiting for a real breakthrough in the car industry
Another reason for such high demand for magnesium is the versatility of this product and the fact that very light products can be made from it. Just think about the laptop, there is namely no laptop lighter than one that is made of magnesium. The automobile industry is also increasingly discovering more benefits of magnesium, although no real breakthrough has occurred yet. Magnesium allows much lighter cars to be made compared to using expensive carbon and aluminium. Manufacturers want lighter cars because they are substantially more economical.
Lighter than metal and titanium
It is a good thing that we recycle lower grade magnesium scrap, because magnesium makes you stand out. For example, magnesium heat dissipation is perfect, as is its high impact resistance. Magnesium is the lightest structural metal and therefore much lighter than steel, titanium and the previously mentioned aluminium. Magnesium density is only slightly above that of plastics and glass and moreover, magnesium is well-known for its strength-to-weight ratio.
The waist-mountain just keeps growing
The scrap heap keeps growing; the environment is under increasing pressure and magnesium supplies are dwindling. Even more reason for us to have an increased focus on purchasing lower grade magnesium scrap and other magnesium waste. Only by doing this can we relieve the pressures on natural sources of magnesium in the ground and prevent the scrap heap from continuing to grow. Meanwhile, magnesium is now on the critical list of natural resource materials, like graphite for example. This certainly says something about the magnesium situation and the importance of recycling.
Recycling is a profession
The process of recycling and processing of lower grade magnesium scrap is a profession. We manage this profession like no one else and our experience – more than 20 years – gives us our advantage. Given the developments around magnesium, we will try to buy even more magnesium waste in order to recycle and process it. For you, in an environmental context, this is also a reassuring thought.
